Linda Summlin Aitch
Linda currently serves as the President of Community Solutions Consulting, Inc. CSC provides strategic counsel and related grantmaking services to charitable giving entities to support their philanthropic activities. Primary services includes grant/proposal review and evaluation, and the development of grantmaking frameworks to leverage available grant dollars and their impact on the community (e.g., issue research; identification of funding/program priorities; resource allocation; and evaluation, communications and policy strategies).
Prior to establishing CSC, Linda served as Director of Community Investment of the Greater Saint Louis Community Foundation from June 2002 to December 2007. The Foundation’s primary mission is to improve the quality of life throughout the St. Louis region by helping individuals, families and business make a difference through charitable giving. As Director of Community Investment, Linda had overall responsibility for the management and oversight of all the Foundation’s grantmaking functions. In this capacity, she led the Foundation’s efforts to invest directly in community change through discretionary grantmaking and supported its work as a charitable giving partner by offering strategic counsel to donors and other partners seeking the Foundation’s assistance with community investment.
Linda began her career in the charitable giving sector with the United Way of Greater St. Louis where she was employed for 16 years. Linda received her master’s degree in urban affairs and policy analysis from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. She has also completed the Women in Leadership training program offered through the Coro Midwestern Center as well as the United Way of America Minority Leadership Development Program. Linda volunteers her time with a variety of organizations in such areas as nonprofit leadership, education, health, faith-based and philanthropic initiatives.
